Why is my eye bloodshot?

for some reason, in the past couple hours my left eye has been almost completely bloodshot, the veins are about 2mm away from the pupil, but then seem to curve around the eye almost. i can see fine and i don't feel any pain. i got hit in the eye/eye-socket with the butt of a tennis racket 3 days ago but i don't think that's the cause.

A friend of mine has recently gone mad. I have no other way of saying it. He has always been quite strange and has severely abused alcohol and drugs. Up until now however he's been fine but recently he has been acting incredibly strangely. He seems to think he has bipolar disorder but refuses to seek help, considering the mania side more of a 'gift' as he puts it. He rambles on about complete nonsense seeming to think he's being profound but makes little sense. He also regularly says quite alarmingly violent things. No one really knows what to do with him, and refuses to go to a doctor, can anyone help?

You see i myself have recently come out of the closet. However, the main reason why i finally realized who i really am is because of this guy at my school. I have already taken a few steps by becoming friends with him. When we started hanging out he acted a little different than any of my other straight friends did. After a week of that i felt even worse, so i came out and told him that I am into him. He wasn't surprised. He told me that he already knew just like he knew how I was gay. After i finally came out in every possible way to him, he still acts flirty and sends me even more mixed signals. When i told him that i am into him, he was like "You know im straight right?" still a quite clear answer, but why didn't he say that he didn't feel the same way. Now that i have gotten through that i can explain how he acts well more gay than me. Firstly whenever we hangout now he makes alot of physical contact even after I have explained my feelings quite throughly. He does things like jokes about taking his pants off, feels me up, sings to the song where it says "Kiss me..Kiss me" and looks at me and smiles, also he has shown signs that he has been well turned on after lying on me, and isnt afraid to be in the same bed as me there are alot more examples but id be rambling if i did. So i am just asking for ur prespective on this because all my friends are like hes gay go for it, while i don't want to mistake feelings that may or may not be there for him just trying to make me feel comfortable.

If you confide in your father talk to him about what's going on and see if he can help. I would recomend family therapy. Usualy things like this are learned ie. Why is my eye bloodshot?

Eye drops relieve it for a few hours at a time, but it's a hassle always having to deal with it. My optometrist has given me a bunch of different prescription eye drops to try but nothing has been a permanent solution. Every once in a while it gets very red and in contrast to my white right eye, it is quite grotesque. What is causing this?

The last couple weeks I've been getting MASSIVE headaches that last for at least an hour. I get them 2 or 3 times a week and it's not a normal headache. It's a horrendous pressure! It feels like my head is expanding a LOT and like my eyeballs are pushing out of my head. My eyes get really bloodshot and I can feel my pulse in my head. It's not a sinus thing because my face is fine other than my eyes. Please help, I'm really worried! :( I am almost 15, female, and reasonably healthy. Contacts burn my eyesss?

Okay so this whole problem started at around January. Idk how it happened but as soon as I noticed, my contacts are literally burning my eyes causing them to be bloodshot and I cannot have them in more than 10 minutes. No matter what I do; (I have monthly disposable) get a new pair, wash them with the solution a 1000 times. And about 2 months ago I went to the doctor and they gave me a new brand of contacts but they still burn. All of the other solution burns my eyes even more. I wore them a year ago and this never happened, plus I take allergy pills every day.

I'm going into my junior year and I'm taking AP statistics and AP Literature, as well as classes at the community college so I can earn my A.A degree by the time I graduate. I have a 4.0 and i want to major in Microbiology. And I'm still hoping I get accepted into good state schools (UF because I live in Florida and I'm shooting for Bright Futures Scholarship). If I were you, I would take much harder classes (AP) and dual enroll if your state does that if you want to even consider Columbia or NYU for Biochem.

Glucosamine Condroiten?

I am in my 50s and use glucosomine chondrotin on myself as well as for my 12 year old sheltie. I think it gives both of us small but noticeable result. Nothing amazing but I can feel some difference and I think the dog can too. My dog is kind of slow when he first gets up but after he is up a few minutes, he is reasonably energetic, still climbs stairs and will run and play with the younger dog for a while. But shelties are long lived breed with few arthritis or dysplasia issues. I have been giving it to the dog for 2 or 2 1/2 years and I have not noticed any negative side effects. I know for myself, I need to take at least 3 weeks before I notice a difference. I asked the vet about it a couple of years ago and he says it is fine to give it to the dog and some dogs have more of an effect with it than others. My personal opinion is it works better for mild to moderate aging/arthritis and less for hip dysplasia but that is just my opinion, not the vet's.

Am I allergic to cats? Please help!?

I have had cats all my life, but only 1 at a time. I'm 15, and I have 3 cats and 2 dogs. I like dogs, but I'm always around my cats, holding them and petting them. However, I have had really bad allergies ever since around October, and it is now May. I sneeze a lot (once I sneezed 13 times straight) and my nose is always stopped up or runny, and I have to breathe with my mouth when I sleep because I won't be able to breathe either any of my nostrils. My eyes are also sort of itchy, and I rub them a lot. About two weeks ago, I woke up and rubbed my eye, and when I looked in the mirror my eye was bloodshot red. It went away about 4 hours later, but sometimes still I will rub my eye and it will be a bit red. Could it be from my cats? Because I think having allergies for this long is a bit ridiculous. Am I giving my dog to much medicine?

For my dog's joints we got him, Glucosamine with chrondroitin in chewable tablets, and a liquid you put over his food, and also hip and joint treats. The bottles says, for his weight, to give him 3 of the tablets a day, 3 tsp of the liquid in his food, and just use the treats as you would use his other treats. Is it to much to give him the tablets, the liquid, and the treats all in one day?, or would it just help him faster?

Ticks on dogs/in house?

My dad put some dirt in our backyard a few months ago and ever since then, we've noticed ticks on our dogs. We've been spraying our yard and house, put medicine on the dogs monthly, had them groomed and shaved, but we've still been finding ticks on the dogs. The thing now is, the ticks bite our dogs and then fall off when they ingest the medicine, so now we have ticks loose on the kitchen floor (where the dogs stay). of course you can change! i get what you mean though, it's like the same with me. i am actually quite messy and everytime i tell myself that i am going to be organised and plan out what my homework schedule is, i always fail to do so in the end. it's really frustrating and i also wonder how we can change our ways. but honestly i think that you should just try to focus and set your mind straight. you could start off by just getting some diaries to organize your daily routines. then you should definitely buy some folders. they just make everything so much easier to find. don't forget to label the folders and maybe even in alphabetical order. i also think that you should stop trying to argue with your mum and just ask her for help. do something nice for her and maybe she can help you sort out your things. good luck! :)

My Dad has had a fever more about 5 days now. What's wrong with him?

He has had a fever for about 5 days. He went to the Emergency Room and the doctors have no idea what is wrong with him. All they gave him was some medicine. The fever includes headaches, high temperature, and fatigue. We've tried to give him fluids and rest but nothing is working. Any ideas or similar situations?

Sounds great! I would definitely read more. I thought your description was good but I think you need a teensy-weensy bit more in between the dialogue. Describe changes in the environment, character actions, etc. If there isn't much of this at parts, than make some! Droning dialogue is boring and can lead readers to turn away. You did pretty good with a few mini-paragraphs in between but you need a little bit more to break it up.

Can too much medicine harm hamsters?

hi, four weeks ago my two robo hamsters got mites. we took them to the vets and they gave us some medicine that you dab on their skin/fur. we got told to use it two weeks after then, and four weeks after then (today) and i held them while my mum put it on them, and we left them alone. this was about an hour ago and now their fur is still quite wet and they are rubbing against things trying to get it off them. we don't think we have but if we've put too much medicine on them, would it be bad for them/hurt them?

I snapped i never meant to i was just upset. The woman walked away. I phoned my husband to tell him to come and get emma because The shop keeper said i will look after her untill your husband comes. Thankyou so much i said and rushed to the vet witch was just around the cornor. My poor almost 3 year old puppy was whimpering and bleeding badley his eye was bloodshot And the vet said he had broken ribs. I think he's going to make it a vet shouted! I was reilived. We just need to take 1 more x-ray to see if everything is in tip-top shape he replied. So he went with my preciouse Dog into the x-ray. He came through. "Im afraid i have some bad news he said softley. We tok the x-ray and everything was fine but i looked at his spine and his legs there was a big crack in theme. Theres nothing we can do If we do surgery the chances are he will die theres only a 50% chance he would make it. The Only kind thing we could do is put him to sleep or since he's a young dog he might make it through the surgery. It was up to me But i decided since i loved my pup so much i would put him though the surgery since he had a 50% chance. So he was whisked off for emergancy surgery. I waited in the waiting room And it was good news he had made it! He had to stay in hospital for 3 days and then i could come back and take him home. So three days later i went To pick him up as soon as he seen me he came rushing over and gave me a massive lick! My pup's Leg was in bandages with cute paw prints on them and he had a special leash that you put over his back wich was the only lead i could use now. He would alwase live with a limp and has a risk of arthiritus when he is older. He still has his bandages on he has to keep them on for 6 months. Now that you have heard my story was this the right thing to do because he will have to live like this for many years to come. He also has to eat special dog food because he can't digest properly and he has to take vitamins in his water and you have to hide pills in his food after the accident. Did i make the right choice by giving him a chance or should i have put him to sleep? Please help me?

Is there anything I can do to stop my cat from peeing on random things in the House?

He is 1 of 3 cats. At one point he had a bladder problem that made it painful for him to pee however he is currently on medicine and special food to help with that. He is an outside/inside cat he spends most of the day outside yet he will still pee on this one spot of carpet in the house and anything we put over it. My dog has red and watery eyes!?

After I picked my dog up from the groomer today, I noticed his eyes were bloodshot and watery. I didn't ask the groomer what happened because I didn't notice it until I was in the car with him. Cant get contacts in! Help!?

I got my first contacts about 4 years ago and i have never been able to get them in. I have been to the doctor and have had my girlfriend and my mom and dad all show me how to do but nevertheless i still cant seem to get them in. My dog had a seizure today?

My dog was all fine and then had seizure, it was so scary. We took him straight to the vet, they said he had a seizure and gave him medicine to make sure he doesn't have a seizure again today and they took a blood test. They said they have to see of anything is wrong with his blood and of it's ok we just have to watch out because they said if he had them again and they are longer then 3 minutes, more then 2 a month, or one after another then he has to take medication regularly. The last couple weeks I've been getting MASSIVE headaches that last for at least an hour. I get them 2 or 3 times a week and it's not a normal headache. It's a horrendous pressure! Well, i really did love him before but realized i wasn't really physically attracted to him. Despite that, I kept up our relationship because he treats me extremely well and is a nice guy. How to go about curing this stomach ache?

3 months ago, I experienced the worst stomach I've ever had. It didn't start out too bad, but it grew and grew, and 5 hours later, my mother took me to the emergancy clinic at 11 pm at night. I had IV's, painkiller type stuff, and they took a catscan of my stomach. The problem was a cyst above my ovary that was ready to rupture (and it did - at the doctors. Instantly felt better). Reasons my period is late?

I missed my period last month and i need some answers as of why. My period has always been regular, ive had one since i was 9 years old. Is stretching the rules for disposable lenses really bad?

i have monthly disposables and i end up wearing them for 2 months or longer because i lose track of time lots. i never sleep with them on but i wear them all day every day because i don't have a pair of glasses currently. As soon as i get up in the morning i prop myself on my elbow and pop them in and don't wash my hands or anything. i let the lenses soak in solution over night though. The only time i put new solution in the case is when its looking a little low or the solution looks really filthy. My eyes get bloodshot lots and hurt most mornings when i put them in, but when i've gone to the optometrist they say my eyes are fine for the most part not wearing them for quite as long will help. Every time I eat I get an extremely intense splitting headache?

I recently went to the doctor for a swollen lymph node. The antibiotic they gave me was so strong it gave me Thrush, (a yeast infection in the mouth). I was prescribed nystatin and now every time I eat, or drink, I get a sudden splitting headache that about brings me to my knees. Its happened when Ive eaten yogurt, pudding, and cottage cheese, I never had a dairy problem before this, in fact I was drinking milk yesterday no problem.. but i only took 2 bites of yogurt before it happened, same with the pudding. I honestly need help with this because I don't know how to go about this. My mom has a mental disorder, but no she's not the one faking it. Ive been having allergy symptoms the last few days, but only when I sleep. Okay well im 16, going to be a senior in high school. My two best friends and I used to hangout all the time with all 3 of eachother. Now we all work, so its hard to mix schedules, but it always seems like they can get together while i work, and then theyre busy when im free. Other times im free and they are and they hang out and dont invite me, yet other times i hangout with one of them instead of both. Its weird and I don't want to sound like a little kid by saying this, but i feel very left out since it's summer and days im free, they are out hanging out and don't seem to invite me. If I stay up really late, no matter what I'm doing (out with friends, hanging out at home) my eyes eventually get a little bloodshot. I'm not doing anything to initiate this (no pot jokes lol). Why is this? How can I fix it?

Abnormal smear results?

Hi :) I was 25 in April and was invited for my first smear the day after but I put it off for 2 months and finally went 8th June, a week later I got my results, CIN 2. I'm really really scared! Iv got to go for a colposcopy at the hospital on 11th July. Iv had 2 children, one when I was 19 and one when I was 21. I had an ectopic at 23 and 2 miscarriages soon after, iv never been for my six week check ups. I had an implanon fitted after my last misscarraige November 2009. Because I had it fitted the day after my Miscarraige started I thought it was normal to bleed for 6 months. Then it stopped and I was in alot of pain and had an operation to remove a large ovarian cyst. This was a year ago and I still get alot of pain in my ovary and deep in my pelvis, I'm assuming this is adesions from my 2 ops (Fallopian tube removal for ectopic, and ovarian cyst removal) my periods remained painful but regular to the date. My last period started 2 days after my smear but wasn't painfull, or heavy, it was just spotting. It's lasted for 2 weeks now and I've only just got period pains today. I did a pregnancy test yesterday just to make sure. Negative. I asked a nurse if the smear could have messed my period up and she said no chance. I'm really sorry for rambling on! I'm so nervous. And to top it off, I watched the LEEP video on YouTube and now I can't sleep. Has anyone gone through anything like this? Thankyou so much

My mother is nearly 50 and drinks about 4 to 5 caffinated cokes a day. She also has had major back surgey (a year ago) and is on heavy medication and has been for about 8 years (because of chronic back pain). She is unemployed and has been for 14 years, and almost never leaves the hous unless she is shopping. She sometimes shops for 8-14 hours. She doesn't have any real friends; she mainly speaks to her parents, husband, son, and me (her daughter); with the exception of speaking to neighbors for a few min. every now and then. She never accepts no as an answer, fights with her husband (my dad) all the time, and has occasionally (when angry) hit me or her son. I wonder if the medicine, coke, and being away from the "real world" has caused her to become slightly insane. This isn't an extremely pressing problem, but is very difficult to deal with. Contact Lenses Help me Please :S?

Okay so I got my first pair of contacts yesterday (Trial Pair) and yesterday I didnt have much problem other than the occasional discomfort. Well today in the morning i put them in and had to wear them for 6 hours today like my doctor told me. At first I was alright just a little uncomfortable then an hour later or so my eyes would get REALLY watery and irritated continously so i took them out and put them back in to see if that was the problem and my eyes felt fine but then they kept getting irritated, and watery, and starting stinging and this time my eyes kinda got a little red. So i kept them in thinking its probably my eyes getting used to contacts and I held through the pain for hours. Well hours passed and now it was 30 mins before i could take them off and I couldnt handle it no more they were stinging bad and both of my eyes were getting foggy/blurry so i took them off and now my eyes are bloodshot and my right eye is very uncomfortable and i have this red mark around my Iris on my right eye. Is this normal for wearing contacts the first time? or am I allergic to them? I'm worried it might be an infection cause my eyes were getting very watery and irritated when i had them on. :S

5th of june 2011 Here is our story: It was a normal Sunny day In Florida I was taking my little girl emma (she is 2 on Monday ) Out for a walk with my Dog Cookie ( a st Bernard mix German shephard) ( I got cookie the same day as my daughter was born to celebrate so he is about 7 months when i got him) I went into a shop with Emma and tied Cookie to a lamp-post outside because he alwase sits and waits. So i got Emma a ice-cream and when i Before i got out the door i heard a thump! Must just be a bin nocking over i thought to myself But when i got outside a woman was holding my dog in her arms "I seen a man let him off the leash and the man ran away" the woman said the dog must have got scared and he just bolted out infront of my car im sorry i'll pay the vet bill she said It's fine i'll pay it you go home! I snapped i never meant to i was just upset. The woman walked away. I phoned my husband to tell him to come and get emma because The shop keeper said i will look after her untill your husband comes. Thankyou so much i said and rushed to the vet witch was just around the cornor. My poor almost 3 year old puppy was whimpering and bleeding badley his eye was bloodshot And the vet said he had broken ribs. I think he's going to make it a vet shouted! I was reilived. We just need to take 1 more x-ray to see if everything is in tip-top shape he replied. So he went with my preciouse Dog into the x-ray. He came through. "Im afraid i have some bad news he said softley. We tok the x-ray and everything was fine but i looked at his spine and his legs there was a big crack in theme. Theres nothing we can do If we do surgery the chances are he will die theres only a 50% chance he would make it. The Only kind thing we could do is put him to sleep or since he's a young dog he might make it through the surgery. It was up to me But i decided since i loved my pup so much i would put him though the surgery since he had a 50% chance. So he was whisked off for emergancy surgery. I waited in the waiting room And it was good news he had made it! He had to stay in hospital for 3 days and then i could come back and take him home. So three days later i went To pick him up as soon as he seen me he came rushing over and gave me a massive lick! My pup's Leg was in bandages with cute paw prints on them and he had a special leash that you put over his back wich was the only lead i could use now. He would alwase live with a limp and has a risk of arthiritus when he is older. He still has his bandages on he has to keep them on for 6 months. Now that you have heard my story was this the right thing to do because he will have to live like this for many years to come. He also has to eat special dog food because he can't digest properly and he has to take vitamins in his water and you have to hide pills in his food after the accident. Did i make the right choice by giving him a chance or should i have put him to sleep? Please help me?

i was diagnosed with mono may 30th (soar throat, fever, tired etc) i was on medicine for 5 days something with a "P" and i felt better June 7th. i was just tired at certain points of the day and spleen was still big. went to doctors the 22nd and she said im cleared of mono, im not contagious, and my spleen and liver are fine, its now been about 5 weeks and im pretty sure i can drink i know not a lot, but just a few drinks, its summer! 15 month old stomach problems?

My 15 month old daughter has been having stomach problems for over a week. She has throw up once every morning for a few days and has diarrhea (about once or twice a day). I took her to the doctor and she has an ear infection and they said to stop giving her milk for a few days. It was impossible to give her fluids before a nap and bed time without milk (she would refuse) so I mixed 6 ounces of milk with 2 ounces of water. Her diarrhea and vomiting has some what improved. Should I cut out milk totally? Just don't know what to do when she refuses fluids. She only takes pedialite or gatorade if I give it to her in a medicine dropper.

Why wont my bloodshot eyes go away?

Hi. Yesterday I accidentally fell asleep for about four hours with my contacts in. When I woke up, my eyes were kind of sore, and the area around my irises was really bloodshot. It was pretty late, so i took my contacts out and went to bed, thinking the bloodshot would go away. It's now about 24 hours since, and the redness is still the exact same. Please help!

Okay so my mom doesn't have a job and goes out all the time with her friends at night. I have a job and go out sometimes but I'm 16 and my mom is 44. Should I go to school if I have sinus infection?

I didn't go to school Monday or Thursday due to it. I'm wondering if I should go Wednesday. I have an ear infection, my eyes are like bloodshot and blurred, and my nasal passage is swollen. The Doc said I shouldn't go Tuesday but I don't really know about Wednesday.

How to deal with cheap / frugal customers?

I have a small shuttle service, we offer private transportation to and from the airport, we aren't a shared shuttle, it is a private service and we use a large SUV. We charge way less than a taxi. Anyway, every so often I get people trying to bargain our rate. I had one lady ask for $20 off! So I offered to take $10 off, but nope that didn't make her happy enough. Anyway I don't want to ramble but it really frustrates me because gas is expensive and not to mention the fact that we are already CHEAPER and cleaner than a cab! What more do people want! and it seems like when I even offer to give them a discount it still doesn't make them happy! Maybe I shouldn't even offer them a discount at all? is it better to not even play their bargaining game?

Could I learn French or Italian in a year?

Okay I am going to Europe next June and spending three weeks I am going to Rome and Paris and I want to be able to interact with the natives I keep hearing that it's impossible to learn it in such a short amount of time but I think I can pick languages up fairly good five months ago I could not get a German sound out of my mouth and just by listening to a German band I can speak with a German accent and can pronounce the words fairly easily I know am rambling but how fluent could I become in eleven months?

mabye its just tiredness or pain from the lost tooth. my shizt zoo has a lot of hair in eyes and if you dont stop them from scratching hair that is stuck in the eye they can become blind or RED from irratation. but still go to vet just in case

I wouldn't be able to answer you on the wipe question. But a tip that has helped me (14) is If your going to do a workout or any physical actIvity with sweat running down your face it's best to take a shower asap to remove any sweat or dirt. Now I don't think it would be as easy for a girl to take a 4 minute Shower to quickly remove anything so you can replace that by just getting regular face wash and use that to clean your face. I do know that when I don't take a shower right after a workout and he sweat just drys I tend to break out, well good luck :)

Find a friend that wasn't drinking to give him a ride to the hospital to be with his step dad, he can always arrange for a ride home later after he sobers up. Do not allow him to drive if he has consumed any alcohol, it could be catastrophic for him, your family, or someone else's family if he were to cause a crash on the way there driving himself.

I think your a great daughter for everything you do and for all the punishment you take and God rewards people like you so don't despair. The reason this is happening is because people have stopped going to church, stopped listening to Jesus and this allows alot of negative energy (demons) into your home. The only person who can fix people like them is God. This is the reason many people RUN to the church as a sanctuary. They can sit and breath and talk to our heavenly father. He sees the problems your going through but he is waiting for you to ASK. He says you have not because you ask not. So God and his son Jesus are very important. In God we have a creator and in Jesus we have an absolute power that no one can mess with. You have no idea how important Jesus is to yoru life and that hes the one you will meet when you die. I have already had several near death experiences and seen him. What I mean is that if something negative is influencing your family you have to reclaim your family. You have to command whatever evil spirits are in your home to go and say I BIND you in the name of Jesus. But for that you must accept Christ FIRST. Make an effort to read the bible because it is (BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH). It is Gods love letter to us. I came from a very turbulent family also, but when I applied the bible and prayer something happened. People around me changed. My house was full of peace, light, love and alot of laugther. Even now my marriage is solid, peaceful, happy, my three teens are happy, good children. Thats the result. So get to a church. The second thing you might want to consider is applying for a college campus where you can go away and just breathe. You meet so many people from around the world and make great friendships with students, professors, you party, or you can relax by the lake on a blanket. There so many activities.See if there might be someone who would be willing to watch over your horses (non family member) until you come back. But get it in writing so that they know your horses are not for keeps. Anyway I hope things go well at the pub and if it doesnt dont do it again.
