I have a question about my rising sign?

It said that I have Scorpio as my rising sign but would that be the reason for why people are scared of me? :( I really hate it, and I know that I cannot do anything about it. Every time a guy is interested in me we make plans to meet up, etc.. and then they just seem so nervous and it kind of makes me feel awkward. idk im rambling... but what first impressions does a scorpio rising give off, because people seem intimidated by me for no apparent reason :((((
