What's wrong with my eye?

I woke up this morning to find that their was crust on my eye lashes. I opened it and my vision was blurry. I washed out my eye with water and the blur went away as did the "goo" that made the crust. My eye is still bloodshot and red-ish but other wise perfectly fine, what's wrong?
