Will you tell me how I can improve this poem?

The line that struck me big: “denial is the beast’s greatest tool” for denial gives agony reason to thrive. Look at it in the eye I say, the penance stare to make it wane. Let the broom of self-acceptance and forgiveness remove the pain. Let the pilgrim rise up, continue, let the serenity come to view that he might heal and lead the souls behind him to a life all whole and new.
